Dawn Inouye - Minister of Worship Arts
Hi person. You've found a webpage that gives me the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I always find it strange to write about myself in the third person, so I'm going to keep this a little more casual, ok?
My name is Dawn Pelletier Inouye and I have grown up here in Southern California. I attended Brethren Christian High School (Paramount, Cypress and Huntington Beach) and Concordia University, Irvine (then known as Christ College, Irvine) where I studied music and anthropology and where I met my husband, Brian and my good friends, Mark and Heather Manning. (That might have been a run-on sentence. Any English majors out there?)
I hold a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and teaching credentials in Music and History. I have taught in both public and private Christian schools over the past 13 years. I have worked at Disneyland as a vocalist and have taught private music lessons for a plethora of years. (plethora = cool word) Currently, I work for Orange Lutheran Online as an instructor and I will be substitute teaching on campus in the fall.
I think I have the distinction of being an 'original' member of Searchlight Ministries. I have had the awesome priviledge of being on the worship team with Kris Huston and Josh Ivey. But, now I am stoked to be challenged as the Worship Director for SM.
OK, back to some personal info... Brian and I have two sons, Patrick and Carson and a goldendoodle named Coda. We study karate as a family and I should be testing for my black belt in less than two years.
Life is quite the journey, and I'm glad there is someone out there who knows the number of hairs on my head and hangs the stars in the sky. I am sure of God's love, grace and mercy and am so humbled by the opportunity and responsibility of worshiping him in spirit, truth and music and taking as much of you along with me as I can :)
Ok, I'm done rambling for now. God bless you if you made it all the way down to this last part. (OK, God bless you even if you didn't read all the way down here)
Take care and to God be the glory!
